Magic Breakfast

Pre-Pandemic, 1.7 million children were at risk of hunger in the UK*, and by early 2022, this number had risen to 2.7 million before rocketing still further to 4 million in September 2022.

Magic Breakfast work with schools to ensure that no child is too hungry to learn and thrive, and their partner schools usually open their doors earlier each morning offering students a free, nutritious magic breakfast ensuring they start their day the right way.

The charity knows that a hungry child cannot concentrate, potentially missing out on half a day of lessons every day if not given anything nutritious to eat in the morning. Magic Breakfast work in schools with high levels of disadvantage, helping head teachers target the children most in need without making those children stand out or feel embarrassed.

This year we are supporting Magic Breakfast in their campaign to end hunger as a barrier to education in the UK. For every school that requests a staff absence insurance quote, we will buy 5 breakfasts to help school children have a nutritious start to the day.
