Notifying us about claims - Schoolsafe

As a Schoolsafe staff absence insurance client notifying us of a claim is a quick and easy process.

When an absence occurs it can be a stressful time for you and the staff member, and it can be difficult to find the time to get in touch and tell us about the absence. Our Schoolsafe policy is one of the best in the market, with Schoolsafe you have 30 calendar days from the end of the month in which the absence commences to notify us of a claim.

What if the absence occurred at the beginning of the month?

It does not matter when the absence occurred, the notification period will begin at the end of the month of occurrence.

That means that even if the absence occurred on the first of the month, you would still have the remainder of that month before the 30 day notification period begins to notify us of the claim, unless it is a maternity, paternity or adoption claim.

Claims conditions

There are claims conditions as well as the notification period; these are outlined in brief below:

  • Notify us by phone, email, fax, or post, and this must be received by us no later than 30 days after the end of the month in which the absence commenced. Unless it is a maternity, paternity or adoption claim
  • You must report claims within 15 calendar days following contract cancellation or expiry
  • You must provide us at your own expense with all certificates information and evidence reasonably required by us and the insured person shall:
    - Submit to medical examination at our request in respect of any alleged accidental bodily injury or sickness where we shall pay the fee
    - As soon as possible after the occurrence of any accidental bodily injury obtain and follow the advice of a qualified medical practitioner
